Your role
As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you operate at the intersection of customer, product and engineering. Rather than starting from a technical feature, you start with a real operational problem and make sure Taloo provides a solution that works in practice.
You analyse workflows, configure and implement our agents, build integrations, and work closely with both customers and our product and engineering teams.
This is a technical role, but definitely not one where you spend your entire day building software in isolation from the customer. We are looking for someone who takes ownership, works autonomously, communicates confidently with customers and understands that the goal is not just to build good software, but to contribute to the success of our customers and our business.
Key responsibilities
- Analyse recruitment processes with our customers and translate them into concrete Taloo workflows.
- Configure and implement AI agents and make sure they perform reliably within the customer's operational environment.
- Build and maintain integrations with ATS platforms, APIs, and other systems in our customers' technology landscape.
- Take ownership of implementations from prototype and testing through to a stable production environment.
- Identify recurring customer needs and work with the product team to turn them into solutions that can be deployed more broadly.
What we're looking for
- Strong technical background in software development, APIs and integrations.
- Ability to translate complex business processes into technical solutions.
- Excellent communication skills, comfortable working directly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- High degree of autonomy and ownership, driving solutions from problem to outcome.
- Business-oriented mindset, focused on customer success and business impact.
- Pragmatic approach, prioritising reliable solutions over technical perfection.
- Experience with AI/LLMs, workflow automation or SaaS integrations is a plus.
- Familiarity with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) is a plus.
- Experience in a tech startup or scale-up is an advantage.
- We're open to both freelance and permanent employment arrangements.
We're not looking for someone who just wants to be handed development tasks. We're looking for an engineer who wants to understand the problem, work with the customer, take ownership of the solution, and help build a successful product and company.
